Prospecting By Phone

Sales prospecting can help you find new customers and make more sales.

But who has time to routinely cold call new accounts... find the key decision makers... then methodically reach these prospects to learn precisely what they need?

That's where I can help.

Doing what even the best sales pros dread — over-the-phone cold calling — is my bread and butter.

That's exactly what I did for a client in Minneapolis, Minnesota (NOTE: The following example of my effort is profiled in Pro Sales magazine.  To view the article, click on the logo at left).

My client works in construction supply sales.  He called from Minneapolis and asked about my prospecting program.

He described his market... and explained what makes his company stand out from the competition.  He then faxed me a list of prospects.

With a telemarketing script written specifically for these prospects, I began over-the-phone cold calls from my office here in San Diego.

From my initial prospecting I learned which prospects were unhappy with current vendors... and why.  To each qualified prospect, we mailed follow-up letters explaining the key benefits of doing business with us.

One week later, these prospects were again contacted by phone.

Qualified appointments were arranged... and from these appointments opening orders and repeat business were generated.

The result: 10 new name customers for my client.

Here's why:

  1. Customer-oriented salespeople have little time to pursue new business.  And the reason is clear.  They're tied down with the usual customer driven services — call backs, estimates, billing adjustments, scheduling deliveries, etc.  Who has time to consistently find new accounts... qualify their interest... then convert the best prospects into becoming active, paying customers?  That's where I can help.

    EXAMPLE: Using a data base of 12 million businesses, I can uncover and qualify prospects in your specific sales territory that you never dreamed existed.  These are prospects you could be contacting... if only you had the time.

  2. Furthermore, with my sales automation software, I can make five to six TIMES more decision-maker contacts per day than is possible with a regular salesperson.  To achieve the same contact level you'd need an average of FIVE salespeople for each person with my skills.

Launching your test is easy

All you do is tell me which types of prospects you want as customers.

  • You can target any type of prospect you like — small companies... large corporations... mom & pop shops... public companies, etc.

  • You can supply your own prospect list... or purchase a test list.  NOTE: With a test list, prospects can be targeted by sales volume... number of employees... name of owner or decision maker... credit rating scores... zip code, etc.

  • No long-term contracts (you can start or stop a test any time YOU like).

What happens next

I will contact and qualify each targeted prospect for you.  I speak personally with each decision maker.  No sub-contracting!

Once I qualify a prospect as having an active interest in doing business with YOUR company, the data file of each qualified lead is e-mailed to you for follow-up.  No half-baked, poorly qualified leads.  Each prospect I find and develop for you has expressed a REAL need for working specifically with YOUR company.
